I'm Kameron, a computer science student at Florida A&M University (Class of 2027) who likes to build things that help people grow, whether that's software, gardens, or communities.

Right now, I'm contributing through the UCSC Open Source Contributor Catalyst Program and exploring work at the intersection of AI, full-stack development, and 3D visuals. When I'm away from the keyboard, you can usually find me dancing, playing sousaphone, tending my plants, homelabbing, or chasing down my next idea over a cup of tea.

All Things Open 2026

As an extension of my UCSC internship, I attended All Things Open in Raleigh to explore how open source powers enterprise technology. It was a chance to take the work I was doing through the Open Source Contributor Catalyst Program and connect it to the wider open source ecosystem.

I came away with a broader view of the technologies teams rely on and the questions behind adopting them: how they connect, how access is managed, and what it takes to run them in practice. The experience gave me more context for my own contributions and more ideas to explore as a developer.

A closer look · NetBird

One standout was NetBird, an open source peer-to-peer networking platform in the same space as Tailscale. It uses WireGuard to connect devices through encrypted private networks, with centralized access management. Learning about it made secure networking feel more tangible, from enterprise infrastructure to my own homelab.
